10th Noche Blanca sparkles with art, performances, gastronomy

The tenth edition of Merida’s La Noche Blanca featured an artistic and cultural program in public parks, which included circus arts, regional theater, dances and music of various genres for all tastes

 

Bars with art, foodtrucks, carriages, craft beers in addition to the famous German sausages, were present at the tenth edition of the White Night Saturday, said the deputy director of Cultural Innovation of the City of Mérida, Paola Guzmán Argáez.

 

From Guadalajara, the company Circus Dragon brought to the Plaza Grande a Christmas story in which the toys of a Christmas tree came alive to present a wide variety of circus arts. Cumbia fans flocked to San Juan Park, where the Carlos Tello Orchestra offered a tribute to the legendary Sonora Dinamita group.

 

At the intersection of 62nd and 63st streets, the symphonic concert of the Yucatecan reggae group “I & I” was presented, to celebrate its 20 years of existence, was accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Mérida, this right at midnight.

 

The program “Food without borders” brought a variety of cuisine to San Juan Park. At this same stage the play “Puruxón Cauich” was presented, a story inspired by the popular song of the same name by Anselmo Castillo Ojeda. The play focused on the adult life of Puruxón, who after having tried for more than ten years to marry the love of his life in Tahmek, is forced to return to Mérida to live with his mother, X’Betina. The work was directed by Erik Santoyo.

 

In the Santiago neighborhood there was music of the Belle Epoque and the romantic rock of the La Década Group. Music and dance also graced the parks of Santa Lucia, San Sebastian and San Jerónimo, in addition to the Remate Paseo Montejo.

 

And in the midst of all this artistic activity the master lecture Populism in Latin America stood out in the program, which the writer Héctor Aguilar Camín presented at the Manuel Cepeda Peraza Theater in Uady.

 

Also, 60 restaurants affiliated with the Canirac offered art and culture on this special night, and with a bracelet delivered in the galleries will give special discounts.

 

Pizza, hamburgers, pasta, wings and snacks were also enjoyed in the eight foodtrucks that will be in Mejorada, while in “Comida sin Fronteras” in the San Juan Park there will be French bakery, German, Colombian, Uruguayan, Chinese and Argentinean food .
