Dead horses found in Merida ravine

Two dead horses were found in a ravine in the Real Montejo subdivision in northwest Merida that is used as a cemetery for these animals that die in the famous “corridas” (bullfights).

Jorge Hernandez shared on Saturday in his Facebook account a video where there is a white horse with bound legs and a few meters byond another brown horse with recent injuries.

It is not the first time that this place is used as a cemetery for these animals, because in the video it is observed that further back (from the brown horse) there is another equine in complete state of decomposition.

In another video published today, the user goes to the site to see if the authorities did something about it after publishing it in their account, but unfortunately the animals were still in the same place in an advanced state of decomposition.

Hernandez affirms that the location is very transited, and the strong smell harms the people who pass by the site.  Also, the CRIT (Centro de Rehabilitación Infantil Teletón) Yucatan is nearby, so the dead horses could be a source of infection.
