CHICXULUB PUERTO — THE BUSINESSMAN Javier Humberto F.F., 46 years old and originally from Playa de Carmen, Quintana Roo, was shot five times around 1 p.m. Sunday inside the restaurant “Ina Beach” located in Chicxulub Puerto.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was the owner of the establishment located at 17 Street between 20 and 22 Streets in the downtown neighborhood.
As indicated by elements of the Municipal and State Police, the attack occurred around one o’clock in the afternoon in a business dedicated to the sale of seafood, so an operation was deployed by the emergency corps, including patrols and ambulances of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), elements of the Municipal Police and Secretary of the Navy (Semar).
Neighbors said that the ones who killed the businessman were two young people who were on board a white pickup truck with license plates from Mexico City.
The victim was reportedly working previously as a taxi driver in Playa del Carmen and had arrived five months ago in Chicxulub, where he acquired the establishment located near the pier.
The two people who executed him entered the front of the restaurant and followed him to the kitchen exit. Immediately, they fled on board the Nissan.
SECURITY OPERATION
Upon receiving the report of the incident, the SSP immediately activated the corresponding protocols with the alert to all units and cordoned three security rings in ports, the center of the state and border areas.
The police in surrounding municipalities were also alerted and responded with security perimeters.
The capture of the alleged criminals was achieved at the control post of the SSP on the Mérida-Valladolid highway, near the Hacienda Teya.
The detained subjects, three men and one woman, carried two firearms. The suspects are originally from Veracruz and Quintana Roo.
