Heavy rains down trees and utility poles in Merida

The heavy rains that occurred Monday afternoon caused the fall of 11 trees in Merida as well as telephone poles, according to authorities’ reports.

The intense rain that fell in various colonies of the state capital caused the fall of trees in colonies such as San Ramón Norte, Miguel Hidalgo, Buena Vista, San Jose Vergel, Maria Luisa and Ciudad Industrial, which were assisted by the fire department of the SSP.

Likewise, the fall of a show tent in the Emiliano Zapata Norte colony was reported, as well as that hail fell in Centro.

Two telephone poles were downed by wind gusts.

Heavy rain also caused power outages in several colonies in western Mérida.
