Street paving gets underway in Progreso

PROGRESO — WITH THE OBJECTIVE of improving road infrastructure for inhabitants of the port, Mayor José Cortés Góngora, accompanied by municipal authorities and citizens, gave the starting signal to the rehabilitation works of the eastern part of the avenue that follows Calle 33.

“We have managed resources so that they are invested in streets and avenues of the eastern area of ​​our municipality; Actions such as these will allow public services to arrive more quickly and transport to move more efficiently. We will continue working together with firm steps,” said the mayor.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Arel Medina Chalé, representing residents of the area, thanked officials for the improvements made by the City Council.

The details of the project were explained by the Director of Public Works, Fernando Martínez Estrada, who said that the resurfacing will cover 12,452.12 m2 of streets, which will include an extension of 33rd Street from the intersection of 30th Street to 46th Street. The project will be carried out by the company Construcciones y Pavimentaciones del Golfo, SA de CV, through the national public tender LO-83 10 59 992-E3-2018.
