VALLADOLID — Yucatan has many very beautiful places that with the support of the state governor are in a position to receive national and foreign tourists in the next Easter holiday period, state officials said.

“Yucatan has a very important system that allows visitors to enjoy the natural beauties of the State, which is why the Secretariat of Tourism Development headed by Michelle Fridman Hirsch, on the instructions of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, is strengthening each of the tourist structures to have quality services and treat nature lovers well, because they are our main promoters in their places of origin, “said Erick José Álvarez Escobar, Director of Business Liaison and Promotion.

The Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve, with its more than 64 thousand hectares, is one of the most beautiful places in the state. There are also other sites that the inhabitants of rural communities have turned into a paradise, because their structures allow visitors to enter the turquoise sea of the Mayan jungle.

A place that is also a tourist attraction is Punta Laguna, which borders the neighboring state of Quintana Roo, whose natural beauty astonishes locals and visitors alike. There, Mariano Canul Abán, an inhabitant of the place, said that the site is a sanctuary for the spider monkey, a species that is in danger of extinction.

He also pointed out that tourists can walk in the jungle that is part of one of the most important reserves of the peninsula, and with the support of the inhabitants have the option of visiting the lagoon in canoes.
