Yucatan strengthens ties with France

Yucatan continues to strengthen its relations with France to establish the foundations of cooperation in terms of investment attraction, business support, tourism promotion and project development in the areas of science, technology, education, environment and sports.

To strengthen these links, the representative of Yucatan’s General Coordination of Advisors, Mario Díaz Cruz, and the International Affairs Coordinator of the Executive, William Pérez Loria, met with the CEO of Foreign Cooperation of the Department of the Atlantic Pyrenees and Mayor of the city ​​of Pau, Marc Cabane, and the director of the Territories and the Environment, Olivier Grosclaude.

On behalf of the General Coordinator of Advisors, Eric Rubio Barthell, the local delegation held with its French counterpart a meeting aimed at addressing issues such as the Special Economic Zone (EEZ) and the Science and Technology Park (PCTY), as well as the level of higher education and private investments.

Also, the strategic projects in Yucatan, such as the International Congress Center (CIC) and also the Music Palace, were addressed, so the European counterpart agreed to formalize a cooperation agreement.

On behalf of the Executive National Coordination of the Mexican Association of International Affairs Offices of the States (Amaie), over which presides Yucatan, an agreement was signed with the President of Arricod, Eric Recoura, which links the two associations to work in the strengthening and creation of the international affairs offices of the state and municipal governments.

La Amaie is a civil association that brings together officials responsible for the international activity of the states of the Mexican Republic. Since April 21, 2017, the Government of the State of Yucatan exercises the National Executive Coordination.

Through this organization, various activities have been carried out aimed at articulating and promoting the areas of international state affairs and generating an atmosphere of cooperation with the three levels of government, foreign organizations and social sectors.
