Yucatecan artisans lose out with incomplete web site project

The director of La Casa de Artesanías (the House of Crafts), Beatriz Peralta y Chacón, explained that although three companies were hired, the website, which would promote the products of the craftsmen, did not see the light of day…//

What would be a tool to expose their products internationally was a fraud, since after the hiring of three companies, the website did not materialize and left the craftsmen with their catalogs in the air, confirmed the director of the House of the Handicrafts, Beatriz Peralta y Chacón.

Although she said that she does not seek confrontation, much less point out who is to blame, she recalled that two companies were contracted to carry out the project, but they did not finish it, so a third was hired “and to date it has not been concluded, even though the artisans already gave photos and prices”.

“Since one could not understand the format to do it, what comes is what we have today,” she said.

Due to the above, an equal resource was not re-managed with the National Institute of the Entrepreneur (Inadem) to launch this project, which undoubtedly would be an important boost for those seeking to export their products.

Peralta yChacón said that during the next administration, the 110 artisans can follow up with those stayed in the federal agency and the Yucatecan Institute of Entrepreneurs (Iyem), as well as the Casa de las Artesanías.

Regarding the resources invested, she said that nothing was lost since the project was justified, although an advance was given. “More than resources, time was lost and in the closing of an administration they will not leave you resources so that you can exercise with the fear that it will be lost,” she explained.

It should be noted that the Iyem was commissioned to hire the three companies that failed to comply with this project that has taken more than seven months, to the detriment of the artisans.
