CFE warns Progreso to pay its electric bill or face shut-off

The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) of the port of Progreso issued a warning of the suspension of electric power service to the City Council of this port, if it does not cover an amount of $492,967 pesos, due to a readjustment that the City Council has had since the previous administration based on a public lighting census. The electric company gave the City Council 48 hours to cover the debt.

It is worth mentioning that members of the City Council comment that this is a reprisal by the CFE because the City Council assessed charges for the right to federal area which amounted to $1.3 million pesos.

So far there has not been a declaration by the mayor Julián Zacarías Curí, about the realization of this payment.
