Isaac loses intensity: Storm downgraded to Tropical Depression

Isaac is expected to continue weakening to become a tropical wave…

Isaac has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression and is expected to continue weakening during the next days, reports the National Water Commission (Conagua), through the Regional Hydrometeorological Center of Merida (CHRM) of the National Meteorological Service (SMN) .

Friday morning, Isaac recorded maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (km / h) and moved westward at 24 km / h, a trajectory estimated to be maintained during the following hours. It is located about 2,350 kilometers east of the coasts of Quintana Roo.

As anticipated, the system advanced on a zone of dry air and sharp winds, conditions that inhibited its development. Isaac is expected to degrade even more and become a Tropical Wave.

It is recommended that the population keep abreast of the trajectory and characteristics of this system through official channels such as Conagua and SMN.
