Pets will get in on the Hanal Pixán celebrations

The association Cinco Patas, which directs its work to the education of people and the rescue of abandoned dogs as well as the search for temporary homes for them, will stage an event this Saturday, along with the company Humanimals, Hanal Peek Xan 2018 , at Plaza Odara located at Av. Yucatan No. 555, starting at 5 o’clock in the afternoon.

“In this 2018 edition of the Hanal Peek Xan we will work together with Humanimals and prepare an event full of fun, conviviality and entertainment to help dogs and cats in a situation of abandonment and sickness,” said Gaby Romero, president of Cinco Patas A.C.

She indicated that Humanimals is part of Cinco Patas, so this year, as part of the inauguration of its branch in Plaza Odara, the Hanal Peek Xan will be held to help many puppies in street situations, “so we will have music live, bazaar market, food trucks, comedy show, costume contest, altars contest, adoption catwalk, gifts and many more surprises”.

Likewise, on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. in the Market 60, located on 60th Street by 53 and 51 in Centro, the Kukur Tihar will be held with the support of shaman Tiburcio Nac, who will carry out this ritual and tribute to dogs.

The Kukur Tihar is a celebration of Hindu origin of tribute to the dog and its special relationship with the human being, where the former becomes the protagonist of the celebration. The dogs are adorned with colorful garlands of flowers, which are tied to their necks and the pundra, which is a powder of different colors, is placed on the forehead. The rite ends by offering the pets their favorite food.

In this celebration the dog owners will be able to donate 60 pesos and in return they will receive the flower necklace and the blessing of the shaman.
